DPF BLOCKAGE & CARBON BUILD UP
All diesel engines build up carbon deposits over time.
The Diesel Particulate Filter captures carbon from being emitted and should self-clean – or burn off – regularly through a process of Passive Regeneration.
If you do not clock up enough regular motorway miles (and thereby high enough engine temperatures to Regenerate), your DPF will start to become blocked, and can lead to knock-on issues, and costly repairs in other areas of your engine.
Running with a blocked DPF can cause secondary and expensive engine damage.

DPF CLEANING / DPF FLUSH
We have decades of experience in cleaning/flushing the DPF of Jaguar and Land Rovers, and offer three solutions, depending on the severity of the issue:
- DPF Flush – usually takes around 2 hours.
- Engine Carbon Clean – removes carbon for the entire exhaust system of your vehicle- takes around 1hr.
- DPF Replacement – in extreme cases, your DPF may need to be replaced, although if this is the case, you will likely have noticed other serious issues with your Jaguar or Land Rover.
DPF BLOCKAGE
Signs Your DPF Might Be Blocked:
- Reduced acceleration and speed, possibly speed restricted to below 30 or 50 mph.
- Warning light on the dashboard (in extreme cases ‘Limp’ or ‘Restricted Performance’ mode.
- Poor fuel economy, rough idling.
- Loss of power, unpleasant smell or black exhaust fumes.

I can’t recommend these guys enough They diagnosed the problem with my car almost immediately and explained everything clearly. Rather than guessing, they identified the fault straight away and came up with the right solution. They had my car repaired and back on the road within just two days, which was far quicker than I expected, Great communication, honest service and excellent workmanship throughout. Great to have a local land rover specialist in walking distance.
Lovely people to deal with, friendly, professional, and most importantly know what they are doing with land rovers. Better then going to the main dealer, and better pricing and update the land rover logs with anything carried out.
Cannot fault them at all, our baby disco will be going there for any work it may need doing (leaky shocks being one).
Highly recommended.

This garage is a little gem found alongside the canal in Timperley. I have bought part worn tyres before but remembered they also did servicing and mots!
Booked the car in at 2.00pm and it was done by 4.00pm. Friendly staff and extremely knowledgable and efficient mechanics and technicians. Will definitely go to these first if I need anything else
